First response to an accident

Assess the situation and check for any potential dangers to yourself, bystanders or the patient. Ensure your own ongoing safety as a rescuer

Do not move seriously injured people unless there is a risk of further injury.

Call on bystanders for help.

    Call 1-1-2 if you need professional help
    • State your name
    • Say where you're calling from
    • Describe the emergiency

If an ambulance is on the way, someone must be sent out to receive it and show the paramedics the way.

Be sure to take a first aid course

Give first aid and comfort the injured person untill professional help arrives

It is important that all accidents and incidents are reported to the Safety Committee and the HR Department. The Safety committee investigates the incident and suggests actions to prevent it recurring and the HR Department contacts the HSE authority and the Health Insurance authority.
